What Type of Insulation to Use in Interior Walls?

Insulation is an essential component of construction whether you plan to build from the ground up, remodel, or even transform a shipping container into a home. In your search for the type of insulation to use in interior walls, InSoFast insulating products are what works the best in combination with affordable pricing and a user-friendly approach to installation.

Our game-changing insulation panels first came on the scene in 2006, when we established InSoFast, LLC. In the years since, the flexibility, effectiveness, and convenience of our products have inspired a surge of popularity for DIY and commercial construction use.

The panels we produce are made from EPS foam for the highest possible insulting power. Produced and shipped from facilities in Massachusetts, Idaho, South Dakota, and Minnesota, our insulation panels are ideal for insulating any flat surface including floors, ceilings, and walls.

What Type of Insulation to Use in Interior Walls?

The Magic of Expanded Polystyrene Foam

EPS (Expanded Polystyrene Foam) is closed-cell foam insulating technology. Our panels are injection-molded, non-porous, and twice as strong as open-cell insulation. The high density of the foam makes for a stronger insulation. It’s not porous, so water vapor and air won’t be able to permeate the panel system of insulation.

In addition to the strength of the panels themselves, the close fit of the insulation system creates a continuous insulation coverage that will work incredibly for your interior walls. The R-value, or resistance to energy loss, will outperform competing insulation with similar R-values. The universal design of the panel even makes it possible to install the system with absolutely no demo work – just apply the insulation panels over the existing walls.

Further benefits of the EPS foam include the fact that the panels won’t break down, settle, or release toxic CFCs or HCFCs. The products are both physically and chemically stable, providing neither a haven nor diet for pests.

InSoFast Interior Insulation Panels

InSoFast insulation products come in two lines for interior use. The UX 2.0 option is the base level series, and the EXi 2.5 line is 20% stronger. Both meet all current and future energy codes and outperform the competition. The panels are lightweight and have a universal design of 24×48 inches.

The UX 2.0 line is 2” thick with an R-value of 8.5, but it outperforms competing insulation with an R-value labeled at 13. This panel features embedded studs, includes fire-resistant properties, and functions as a Class III vapor barrier.

The EXi 2.5 product line of insulation is ½” thicker and has an R-value of 10, but it outperforms the competition with an R-15 energy efficiency.

If you’re ready to upgrade the insulation of an existing home or one that’s in the process of construction, the type of insulation to use in interior walls is one that will allow you to install directly over walls, and InSoFast insulation panels are what work best with this application method.
