Prepare for the coming winter temperatures with InSoFast basement insulation upgrades for your Ohio home. Our patented and patent-pending designs offer affordable insulation measures that you can install on your own.
The purpose of InSoFast insulation panels is to save the user time, effort, and money. Our panels make the insulating process shockingly easy! You may even have to see it to believe it, which is why we have a plethora of videos posted on our website.
When we first broke ground in 2006, the purpose was to enter the commercial building energy efficiency system market, but the product proved so easy to use that the home improvement market quickly joined in fandom. With InSoFast insulation products, you find solutions that meet all existing and future energy regulations, outperform the competition, and facilitate additional building steps like wiring, framing, and drywalling.
Today, customers can order InSoFast insulation panels online or at select Menards locations, from Antioch to Yorkville. We will ship for free to project sites throughout the Lower 48, directly from our factories in Idaho, Minnesota, or Massachusetts.
Insulating with InSoFast Insulation Panels
InSoFast insulation for interior applications is available in two product lines, both of which are a non-bulky 2-foot by 4-foot with different thicknesses.
The 2.0 Flat Panel is 2” thick and offers R-8.5 thermal efficiency but outperforms R-13 fiberglass insulation.
The 2.5 Flat Panel is ½” thicker and produces R-10.5 insulation power while outperforming R-15 fiberglass insulation.
Some of the unique features included in these panels include framing, moisture control channels, service raceways, and a stackable panel. They’re ideal for meeting and exceeding all existing and future energy codes.
InSoFast insulation panels operate as systems of continuous insulation when put together into a wall of panels. Within each panel lies polypropylene studs that don’t conduct energy and are well-covered by the foam. These studs take the place of a wooden frame and negate the potential for thermal bridges where the continuity of the insulation is interrupted.
Each of the studs is as strong as a 20-gauge steel stud, able to hold up to 250 pounds/stud. During application, make sure that the construction adhesive goes on the ribbed side of the stud; the smooth side will not grip as well. We suggest choosing Loctite PL Premium 3X Stronger Construction Adhesive. In fact, third-party studies have shown our panels, when applied with this adhesive, will hold up to 5,000 pounds per panel!
When exposed to water, InSoFast insulation panels aren’t affected. In fact, the R-value remains stable, as does the panel. The foam is non-porous, and the drainage channels will wick away the water from the wall cavity. The panels are physically and chemically stable.
In addition to the construction adhesive mentioned above, the project will require a utility knife, a saw of some kind, a caulking gun to apply the adhesive, and expanding foam spray to seal up any edges and gaps.
After installation, be sure to let the adhesive cure for at least 24 hours before moving on to wiring and drywalling.
