If you’d like to lower your utility bills, take advantage of every square foot of your home, and improve the respiratory health of your family, consider finishing your basement. These improvements are just a few of the many reasons to improve your basement’s condition. If you do take this route, a basement requires insulation to repel the dampness and cold that tends to seep into these sub-ground-level spaces. InSoFast insulation panels make it easy to handle the task yourself while achieving a commercial-grade result.
The InSoFast Insulation Difference
Our insulation products are made of closed-cell, injection-molded EPS foam. The closed-cell nature of the product provides double the insulation per square foot of insulation as compared to open-cell insulation technology.
The primary factor to consider when choosing insulation is the R-value. The R stands for resistance to energy loss, so higher numbers indicate a stronger insulation. InSoFast insulation products are also able to provide insulation that outperforms what is typically expected because of the non-conductive embedded studs that prevent thermal bridging and the tight connection of the panels for maximum air tightness.
This strong insulating power is essential for basement areas. Basements are typically cold and often have a problem with mold growth. InSoFast insulation panels meet all present and future energy efficiency codes and include moisture control channels.
The InSoFast Panel Design Difference
InSoFast insulation panels come in standard, lightweight, non-bulky panels. They’re 24×48 inches and interlock to create a wall system of insulation. The insulation systems can be designed for indoor and outdoor uses and all flat surfaces including cold basement floors, walls, and ceilings. Residential remodeling, new builds, or commercial projects are all ideal applications for InSoFast insulation panels.
The magic of InSoFast insulation panels lies in its design. The panels stack like building blocks and require a few simple tools to apply. You will only need a utility knife, a saw of some kind, a caulking gun, and Loctite PL Premium 3X Stronger Construction Adhesive. This project is one you can do yourself without an army of helpers or a lot of time.
The panels also include non-ferrous studs that can hold up to 250 pounds each, negating the need for a separate wood frame. These studs provide a place of purchase for drywall, cabinetry, flat screen televisions, and other mounted hardware.
Raceways for running electricity and moisture control channels to keep vapor or condensation from settling within the wall are other hallmark features that make our insulation panels stand out amongst the competition.
The Different InSoFast Insulation Products for Basements
InSoFast insulation products come in a couple of series for interior purposes and one for exterior use. The base level interior insulation panel, UX 2.0, is 2” thick, has an R-value of 8.5, and meets all present and future codes. Next up is a half inch thicker and 20% stronger insulation series, EXi 2.5. This series interlocks more tightly and is able to bridge irregularities in the cement wall of a basement. The EXe 2.5 panel is similar to the EXi 2.5 panel except that, instead of electric raceways, it offers dual-sided drainage channels because it’s intended for exterior use.
You can further increase the insulating power for InSoFast insulation with the PLUS method wherein you cover the InSoFast insulation system with your choice of rigid foam board for a higher cumulative R-value.
