Get the most bang for your home improvement buck by adding InSoFast insulation to the basement of your Indiana home. Cold winters can cause high heating bills without sufficient insulation, but upgrading the thermal efficiency of this one area can pay back dividends in lower utility costs, longer lasting heating equipment, and a more comfortable life lived in the home.
InSoFast insulation panels are made of EPS foam that is injection-molded into precise shapes to create building systems of continuous insulation coverage.
InSoFast Insulation Product Lines for Basement Applications
Our panels remove any difficulty from the process of insulating your basement. You won’t need to build a frame, nor will you lose thermal efficiency due to the interruption of the insulation coverage caused by traditional wood studs.
The secrets to our panels include the polypropylene studs built-into the EPS foam as well as the tongue-and-groove notches that keep alignment straight and true.
2.0 Flat Panel – offers base level insulation for most energy regulations through 24”x48”x2” panels with R-8.5 thermal resistance to energy loss. When connected into a system, these panels outperform fiberglass insulation labeled as R-13.
2.5 Flat Panel – provides 20% more insulating power through 24”x48”x2.5” panels with R-10.5 thermal resistance to energy loss. This panel system outperforms R-15 fiberglass insulation.
Our panel systems feature:
- Fire-resistant additives
- Class III vapor barrier
- Built-in moisture control channels
- Service raceways
- Rot-resistant framing
- Polypropylene studs every 16” on center
Little Time, Little Effort, Big Reward
If you can put together lego blocks, you can build an InSoFast insulation wall system. The panel edges connect tightly, and the system gets stronger as more panels are added. Taping isn’t needed during installation. You will need tools to modify the panels (utility knife and a saw), construction adhesive (Loctite PL Premium 3X Stronger Construction Adhesive) and a caulking gun to apply it, expanding foam spray to finish up any edges or gaps, and some static guard to make clean up a breeze.
More than just insulation, these panels make framing easy. Each stud is as strong as a 20-gauge steel stud and can support up to 250 pounds each.
When installed using the Loctite construction adhesive we suggest, each panel can hold up to 5,000 pounds! That is secure.
Your drywall will hold when attached into the built-in studs, as will accessories and cabinetry you’d like to install. The panels feature indicator lines to make stud location simple.
Wiring is also made easier by vertical and horizontal channels that welcome any wiring design you can imagine. Adding outlet boxes is equally easy with a few cuts made through the EPS foam.
The non-porosity of the panels as well as the built-in drainage channels protect your home from moisture. Moisture is the enemy of your home. It leads to wood rot, metal corrosion, and mold/mildew growth.
Basement insulation added to your Indiana home is one single change that can transform your home.
