Premier Basement Insulation Product Lines

InSoFast, LLC, has two distinct product lines that are deemed appropriate for basement purposes. Each of them is 2’x4’ and connects to one another at tongue-and-groove notched edges and to the wall via construction adhesive along the stud.

The basic level insulation panel is the 2.0 Flat Panel. This panel is 2” thick and offers an R-8.5 thermal efficiency that outperforms R-13 fiberglass insulation.

For 20% stronger insulation, level up to the 2.5 Flat Panel. This panel is ½” thicker and connects even tighter due to the interlocking edges and more deeply recessed embedded studs. The panel has an R-10.5 thermal efficiency but outperforms R-15 fiberglass insulation.

InSoFast insulation panels feature several characteristics that will improve the build. These include service channels for running wiring, built-in studs for framing, channels for mitigating moisture, and a straightforward design for easy stacking and installing.

Adding insulation to a basement often requires waterproofing, and while InSoFast insulation panel systems can serve as a vapor barrier, it shouldn’t be confused with waterproofing. The drainage channels included in the non-porous panels will not substitute, and waterproofing should be completed before insulation installation.

Easy InSoFast Insulation Installation

Several features unique to InSoFast panels make them the go-to, trusted option for DIYers in the know as well as construction professionals.

The panels themselves can be cut to fit into an airtight wall system with a saw through the polypropylene studs and a utility knife through the EPS foam.

The panels stack together and weigh very little, so one person can handle the job easily. Furthermore, application requires no taping during application. The wall system grows in sturdiness with each additional panel.

The polypropylene studs occur every 16” on center, and they have the strength of a 20-gauge steel stud to support both the panels on the wall and the drywall over the insulation system.

Wiring is simplified by the service channels built into the panel. They run perpendicular to each other, and outlet boxes can be installed with a few swipes through the foam of the panel. No matter how creative your wiring may be, the panels will facilitate the design.
