The exterior portions of a building’s construction serve to keep the weather and environment from damaging the internal components of construction. InSoFast insulation panels provide continuous insulation in framed exterior walls.
InSoFast exterior insulation panels are lightweight and easily stacked for greater convenience when building a system of insulation. The weather resistance, strength of support, and affordability make this insulation option ideal for providing exterior continuous insulation.
The continuous insulation created by InSoFast insulation panels works through a wall system pieced together one panel at a time. Each panel is 24×48 inches of injection-molded, closed-cell Expanded Polystyrene foam that can be used on any flat surface. The interconnected panels build a continuous insulation wall system.
InSoFast Continuous Exterior Insulation
The insulation panels manufactured by InSoFast specifically for exterior use provide an R-10 continuous insulation weather screen assembly. Designed specifically for exterior purposes, this series of panels will heighten the insulating power and manage moisture easily.
The InSoFast EXe 2.5 insulation panel is made for outdoor use. Instead of electrical raceways, this system includes moisture drainage channels on each side and permits multi-directional air flow while preventing water to cut through the wall system. One easy system of insulation will improve energy efficiency, moisture protection, and mildew prevention.
An exterior insulation of InSoFast insulation panels will work directly on top of the current house wrap or weather resistant barrier, creating a secondary barrier. This continuous insulation is great for traditional wood framed walls because it creates a capillary break between the frame and the sheathing.
Adding vinyl siding or another outside finish is simple. The embedded studs allow for a direct connection and can withstand the same load as 20-gauge steel studs. Because they’re non-ferrous and non-conductive, the studs will help the home maintain energy stability.
Finishing choices appropriate for use on top of InSoFast external insulation panels include the following:
- Vinyl siding
- Cement board siding
- Stucco
- Thin brick
- Cultured stone
- Metal panels
Regardless of the finishing option that you choose for the exterior of your home, the InSoFast continuous insulation system will support up to 2” thick coverings and attach easily.
The interlocking notches on the panels’ edges eliminate the need for taping during installation and make the process easy and fast, as the name of InSoFast insulation implies. You’ll only need a saw of some type for modifying the polypropylene studs, a utility knife to resize the foam as needed, a screw or nail gun, and a can of spray foam insulation to seal all of the edges.
Taking the exterior system of continuous insulation built by InSoFast EXe 2.5 panels a step up is possible with the InSoFast PLUS system. By placing the rigid foam board of your choice over the InSoFast insulation panel system, you’ll enhance the R-value of the overall insulation design. To score the finished project, add the R-value of the foam board to the R-value of the InSoFast product for a cumulative R-value.
