While shipping containers are storming the construction world with their incredible versatility, affordability, and availability, they do require efficiently applied insulation. If you would like to know how to insulate your shipping container, look to InSoFast insulation products.
High-quality EPS foam insulation serves as the material for InSoFast insulation products. We started designing, producing, and distributing our products in 2006 with the notion that they would best serve professional, commercial construction endeavors. However, we quickly discovered that D-I-Y-ers love our products because of how well they work and how easily they’re installed.
The only tools you need to install our products include a caulking gun loaded with Loctite PL Premium 3X Stronger Construction Adhesive, a utility knife, a saw of your choice, and a can of spray foam insulation. You won’t need special tools, safety gear, or many helpers.
InSoFast is an American company distributing American-made products. Our facilities in South Dakota, Massachusetts, Minnesota, and Idaho produce patented and patent-pending insulation products, and we offer surcharge-free shipping to project sites within the Lower 48.
InSoFast CX Shipping Container Panels are specially made to fit along shipping containers’ side walls. The CX shipping container panel is thin at a mere 2” deep. The panels should be installed in a running bond pattern, horizontally, so that the embedded studs align against the ridges of the corrugated sides in a repetitive pattern of 11-inches.
InSoFast insulation InSerts are sleeves of EPS foam that fill up the corrugation and create an airtight surface to receive a following layer of interior InSoFast panels. You will choose either the UX or EXi 2.5 panels to complete your maximized system of insulation.
The InSerts are also the perfect companion to the CX-LP LowPro Studs. Users will install the studs along the ridged parts of the corrugation, and the empty spaces receive the InSerts. You’ll then apply the rigid foam board of your choice to complete the system. This option is perfect for exterior applications where wiring won’t be an issue. They’re more affordable than the container panels. However, if your project will be wired, the other InSoFast insulation products are the better choice.
We’re happy to provide insulation kits for shipping containers. We offer 20-and 40- foot kits while also providing customized options when required.
The insulation you choose for your shipping container project is of vital importance. The condensation, radiant heat and cold, and amplified noises all make metal shipping containers uniquely challenging to use as a habitation. Insulation will prevent the formation of condensation, mitigate moisture, and prevent mold, mildew, and rot. Our insulation will also take up little room while providing stellar temperature and noise protection along with a built in, thinner frame.
With the right InSoFast insulation products, your shipping container project can open up a world of space possibility. Potential uses for containers include the following and more:
- Tiny homes
- Homes built with multiple containers
- Offices
- Mobile concession stands/pop-up shops
- Disaster-related temporary shelters
- Classrooms
- Lake/beach/hunting cabins
