Remodeling basements and older homes becomes much easier when you employ InSoFast insulation panels. The patented and patent-pending EPS insulating panels provide a flush strong surface that serves as a place of purchase for a convenient drywall install.
Since the company’s inception in 2006, InSoFast, LLC, has manufctured closed-cell, injection-molded Expanded Polystyrene foam insulation panels. We ship without charge in the contiguous United States from our manufacturing sites in South Dakota, Idaho, Massachusetts, and Minnesota.
InSoFast CI Panels Information
While InSoFast, LLC, began doing business by marketing to the commercial construction industry, our panels quickly became a Do-It-Yourself favorite. The low weight and low bulk along with the easily re-sizable foam make them simple to work with few hands, tools, and skill. The only tools you’ll require include the following:
- Saw (handsaw, jigsaw, sabre saw)
- Loctite PL Premium 3X Stronger Construction Adhesive
- Caulking gun
- Utility knife
- Can of spray foam insulation
InSoFast UX 2.0 Insulation Panel
The basic option of insulation paneling offered by InSoFast has a 2” depth and an R-value of 8.5. The surface exposes the embedded studs. The composition of EPS foam creates a Class III vapor barrier, and the panels create a simple frame that resists rotting, includes built-in drainage channels and electric raceways, and has an easily maneuvered and stackable design. This panel meets all present and future energy regulations and creates an affordable system for outstanding and multi-functional insulation and more.
InSoFast EXi 2.5 Insulation Panel
For greater energy efficiency, InSoFast EXi 2.5 insulation panels are half an inch thicker than the UX 2.0 series. An R-value of 10 and 20% higher insulation come from this panel system.
The InSoFast insulation panel system offers continuous insulation through the built-in, non-ferrous studs preventing thermal bridging and subsequent energy loss. The insulation panels include tongue and groove edges that interconnect and create an airtight wall system of insulation. The flexibility combined with the tight connection allows the panels to cover walls straight and true despite any irregularities in the original surface.
InSoFast Panels Offer Many Benefits
- Made with flame-resistant foam
- Classified as rigid foam plastic insulation
- Non-porous foam obstructs passage of water vapor and air
- Panels are stronger than open-cell foam panels
- Strong surface for holding drywall, cabinets, and other mounted accessories
- Prevents thermal leakage and water porosity
Drywall Install Made Easy
InSoFast insulation panels must have either a drywall finish that’s at least ½” thick or another approved 15-minute thermal barrier.
Installation of drywall over an InSoFast wall system works the same as installing drywall over a conventional frame. All that’s required is screwing the drywall to the embedded InSoFast studs. For drywall, all-purpose coarse drywall screws work adequately, and for single layer gypsum paneling, type W bugle head screws are required.
Screws are most appropriate since wallboard nails can work their way free and damage drywall panels. Installing base board and trim boards is also simple. Nail them directly into the appropriate studs.
When using InSoFast insulation panels, it’s important to wait at least 24-hours for the construction adhesive to cure prior to beginning the finishing process.
InSoFast insulation panels work as a system to provide powerful insulation while facilitating multiple construction processes.
