If you’ve run out of living space within your home, the garage area might prove to be a valuable addition to your home. Make room for your aging parents to move in, your family to relax together, to work out without leaving home, or to welcome a returning adult child. Insulate and finish the interior of your garage wall as the primary element of making maximized use of your garage space. InSoFast interior insulation panels provide an efficient and convenient way to complete this process.
The Best Garage Insulation
InSoFast insulation panels are ideal for insulating the ceilings, floors, and walls of garage areas. They’re available in two different product lines directed toward interior use: UX 2.0 and EXi 2.5. Both panels are 2’x4’, lightweight, stackable, and easily installed. Each is made of closed-cell, injection-molded EPS foam and includes moisture control channels, a built-in frame, and raceways for running electric wiring.
InSoFast UX 2.0 Panels
- 2” deep panel produces an R-value of 8.5
- Outperforms batt fiberglass insulation with an R-13 energy efficiency
- Includes a fire-retardant additive
- Operates as a Class III vapor barrier
InSoFast EXi 2.5 panels
- 5” deep panel design
- R-value 10
- Outperforms competitors with an R-value of 15
- 20% more insulating than the UX 2.0 panel series
Either of these panels will meet all current and future energy codes. Your choice will depend on the climate of your home and your desired level of insulation. You can even take the insulation a step further with the InSoFast PLUS system wherein our panels are used in conjunction with a generic rigid foam board.
Installing Garage Insulation on Your Own
Installing these panels is simple. You’ll need a few hours, a stack of panels, and minimal tools. The panels connect to one another in an unambiguous fashion that leaves no room for mistakes. The process won’t require taping, and the system will grow stronger with every additional panel.
Tools required include the following:
- Utility knife to modify foam of panels
- Saw of some kind to cut through the polypropylene studs when needed
- A supply of Loctite PL Premium 3X Stronger Construction Adhesive
- A caulking gun
- A can of spray foam insulation to seal up the edges and seams
Finishing products will need to follow your InSoFast insulation wall system. The built-in frame will create an ideal method of installing these materials. The non-ferrous studs can hold up to 250 lbs. each and are located every 16” on center. We even provide indicator lines so that you’ll know exactly where to screw in your all-purpose drywall screws.
These studs are strong enough to hold mounted accessories as well. Hang cabinets, shelves, flatscreens, and other objects without worry about them falling or destroying the integrity of the insulation wall system.
