If you are interested in incorporating InSoFast insulated panels in the interior or exterior of your home or other building for a cost-effective, weather resistant, fast and easy to install insulation solution, consider InSoFast!
InSoFast, LLC, established in 2006, manufactures closed-cell, injection-molded EPS foam insulation panels at facilities in Idaho, Massachusetts and Minnesota. They are the preferred DIY insulation method and can be shipped free of charge to project sites across the continental U.S.
How InSoFast Can Help
Expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam is a closed-cell insulation that is manufactured by “expanding” a polystyrene polymer. It provides the following benefits:
- non-porous, making it difficult for water vapor and air to pass through it
- stronger, denser, and can carry heavier loads than open-cell foam
- continuous R-value of 8.5 or 10.5
- tightly interlocking panels create a resilient seal that will not change shape, dry or crack over time
- solid surface supports drywall attachment and other finishes
- eliminates the potential for mistaken thermal leaks and prevents water from reaching the face
Easy Installation for Do-It-Yourselfers
InSoFast EPS panels are very lightweight and can be easily cut and installed on the jobsite with a handsaw, handheld jigsaw or sabre saw, glue and a and a caulk gun.
The seamless interlocking edges require no taping, and the built-in embedded stud framing aligns every 16-inches on center to simplify gluing or screwing panels to walls. Install drywall, cement board, tile base, or wood siding over the panels just like over traditional framing.
The InSoFast UX 2.0 Panel is 2-inches thick with a flat surface that exposes the face of the embedded studs. The EPS body is manufactured with a fire-retardant additive and serves as a Class III vapor barrier. With R-8.5 continuous insulation, rot-resistant framing, drainage channels, electrical raceways, and a simple, stackable interlocking design, this panel a very cost-effective insulation solution for interior applications.
When you need a thicker panel with a higher R-value, the EXi 2.5 Panel, at 2 ½-inches thick, is a great choice. Its tighter interlocks and recessed studs keep the EX barrier truer and straighter, enabling it to bridge over cups, bows and other irregularities in concrete walls. This InSoFast panel’s continuous R-value of 10 provides 20% more insulation than our UX panels.
For exterior applications, the InSoFast EXe 2.5 Panel is an R-10 continuous insulation (CI) weather screen assembly that is optimized for exterior usage and maximizes energy efficiency and moisture management. Panels can be installed over your existing weather resistant barrier or house wrap. They serve as a secondary weather resistant barrier that is well-suited to absorptive claddings such as stucco or stone and provide a much-needed capillary break from wood framed walls and sheathing.
