Whether you are renovating an old home or building a new one, InSoFast continuous insulation panels are the ideal solution for insulating interior walls, floors and ceilings.
InSoFast panels are designed for use in commercial-scale energy efficiency projects, but their amazing simplicity has made them popular with homeowners for DIY basement and interior renovations, exterior retrofitting under siding, brick, stone, stucco and other finishes, and for insulating shipping containers.
What is InSoFast?
InSoFast is a style of engineered continuous insulation that comes in 2-foot x 4-foot interlocking panels of varying depths. The closed-cell, injection-molded EPS foam panels can be universally applied to any interior or exterior wall assembly in both new and retrofit construction projects.
Unlike open-cell foam insulation, InSoFast closed-cell foam insulation is non-porous, making it difficult for water vapor and air to pass through it. It is stronger and denser and able to carry heavier loads than open-cell foam. It also provides almost twice the insulating R-value per inch. "R" means resistance to heat flow. The higher the R-value, the greater the insulating power.
The InSoFast UX 2.0 Panel is 2-inches thick with a flat surface that exposes the face of the embedded studs. The EPS body is manufactured with a fire-retardant additive and serves as a Class III vapor barrier. With R-8.5 continuous insulation, rot-resistant framing, drainage channels, electrical raceways, and a simple, stackable interlocking design, this panel a very cost-effective insulation solution for interior applications.
Need a higher R-value? The thicker InSoFast EXi 2.5 Panel, at 2 ½-inches thick, is an excellent choice. Tighter interlocks and recessed studs keep the EX barrier truer and straighter. This panel’s continuous R-value of 10 outperforms traditionally framed R-15 batt walls and provides 20% more insulation than our UX panels.
With tightly interlocking tongue-and-groove edges that don’t require taping, InSoFast Panel installation could not get any easier and requires only a minimum of tools and supplies, including a utility knife, saw (hand, jig, skill or table) and construction glue.
