Insulation for Exterior Walls R Value

Improve the energy efficiency, durability & overall performance of your wall assemblies

If you are considering insulation for your exterior walls, learn about R-value and about InSoFast continuous insulation products. Our patented and patent-pending panels can improve the energy efficiency, durability and overall performance of your exterior wall assemblies.

InSoFast, LLC, established in 2006, manufactures closed-cell, injection-molded EPS foam insulation panels at facilities in Idaho, Massachusetts and Minnesota. Our panels can be shipped free of charge to project sites across the continental U.S.

Edward Scherrer, President of InSoFast, has over 30 years of experience in the construction industry. He worked with continuous exterior sheet insulation and Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) before developing InSoFast continuous insulation panels to simplify on-site installation for contractors and homeowners.

About R-Value

The purpose of insulation is to stop the flow of heat out of your home and keep it inside to warm the home in winter. R-value is the measurement of its ability to resist thermal (heat) transfer and will depend on the type of insulation, its thickness, and its density.

The higher the R-value, the greater the insulating power, which means warm air inside your home will take longer to bleed through walls or ceilings, helping to maintain a constant temperature. If you live in a cold climate, you will want insulation with a higher R-value.

High R-value alone, however, will not meet your needs if small gaps and fissures in your building materials allow heat to escape. It’s important to ensure that the space is fully filled with insulation in order for your home to be energy efficient during the winter months.

About InSoFast Continuous Insulation

The InSoFast FP-2.5NRW Panel is an R-10 continuous insulation (CI) weather screen assembly that is optimized for exterior use and maximizes energy efficiency and moisture management.

Each panel is 2 ½-inches thick. Both sides feature ORSC, Section R703.1.1-approved rain screen and drainage technology on both sides. The continuous R-value of 10 outperforms traditionally framed R-15 batt walls.

It’s easy to increase your R-Value beyond R-10 code minimums while maintaining the engineered benefits of continuous InSoFast panels. Use either UX 2.0 or EX 2.5 panels over the base panels to develop an InSoFast PLUS wall, which gives you the ability to go from R-8.5 to R-21.

The best feature of the EXe 2.5 panel may be the ease of installation. The seamless interlocking edges require no taping, and panels can be cut to fit with a handsaw, jigsaw, sabre saw or table saw. These factors have made InSoFast the preferred DIY insulation method.

Purchase a panel to see if InSoFast is right for your project. Sample packages demonstrate all the key engineered features of the panel and include an installation guide and other product literature. If you decide to use InSoFast, we will credit the price of the sample to your order of more than 9 boxes of InSoFast panels.

Finish your project with fewer steps, less time, less labor, and excellent R value by installing the best insulation for exterior walls from InSoFast. Call us today at (888) 501-7899 or contact us online to learn more about our products.
