A shipping container provides a fine form upon which you can build a comfortable home or office. The insulation will be a key feature of this project, and InSoFast offers uncomplicated, effective, and affordable shipping container wall, end, and ceiling inserts for an airtight seal.
Our quest to provide high-quality insulation began in 2006. InSoFast, LLC is an American company that promotes energy efficiency via insulation systems that meet and go well beyond present and future energy regulations. Our panels outperform the competition’s batt walls and facilitate various aspects of the construction experience. We ship for free within the lower 48 from our sites in Minnesota, Massachusetts, South Dakota, and Idaho.
Our products offer something special. InSoFast insulation panels are engineered to be continuous, thermally stable through its interlocking system. Each closed-cell, injection-molded Expanded Polystyrene Foam insulation panel offers superior quality insulation, while InSoFast offers different series of styles to suit indoor, outdoor, and shipping container purposes.
The Difficulties of Shipping Container Projects
Made for hauling freight rather than promoting comfortable living, shipping containers are made from steel, and they have specific vulnerabilities that come from that composition. Condensation will ultimately result in the destruction of the building without remediation, and the noise and extreme temperatures will make the building uninhabitable without insulation.
While resolving problems associated with shipping container projects requires insulation, traditional insulation products may fuel other problems. The traditional wood frame and fiberglass insulation setup will take up more space within the shipping container, and the fiberglass insulation will soak up water resulting in mold and mildew that are hazardous to respiratory health.
InSoFast insulation panels provide a simple, straightforward way to modify the container into a dry and comfortable space for useful purposes.
The Right Solution with InSoFast Panels and InSerts
The line of wall panels designed specifically for shipping container projects, InSoFast CX, has a thin profile and follows an 11” repeating pattern along the corrugated sides of the container. Each panel is 44×24 inches and should be installed with a horizontal orientation. The studs will then be aligned vertically to the corrugated ribs.
Special Features about CX Panels for Shipping Containers
- Embedded, non-ferrous studs
- R-value of 11
- Built-in electrical raceways
- Built-in frame
- Doesn’t require special tools
- Continuous insulation (CI)
- Take less time or space
- Flush and strong support for drywall application
InSoFast also provides wall and ceiling InSerts to use along with InSoFast interior panels to insulate shipping containers. The Expanded Polystyrene Foam inserts fill the empty spaces, preparing the surface for InSoFast insulation panels. InSoFast UX 2.0 or EXi 2.5 panels provide the finishing panels to complete the insulation system.
Time and quality are two elements gained from InSoFast container panels and InSerts. The only tools you’ll need include a caulking gun, PL Premium 3X Stronger Construction Adhesive, a saw of some sort, a utility knife, and a can of spray foam insulation to fill seams and small gaps.
We at InSoFast even offers shipping container kits for 20-foot and 40-foot containers that have standard 8-foot or high cube 9-foot ceilings. If your measurements aren’t standard, we can also customize your kit to fit your project.
