Our panels are made of closed-cell EPS foam, injection-molded into our patented and patent-pending designs. To install the products into your shipping container, you’ll likely only need the kit, a utility knife, construction adhesive, a saw, a caulking gun, and canned spray foam insulation.
Choosing Expanded Polystyrene Foam Panels
EPS foam comes as open or closed cell foam. InSoFast uses closed-cell foam, which is twice as insulating per square inch as compared to open-cell foam. This foam is non-porous, resistant to thermal energy loss, and physically and chemically stable.
InSoFast insulation panels will not deteriorate or release toxins over time; they will remain in place and intact for the life of your home without some other cause interfering.
These panels won’t absorb water, and they won’t encourage the growth of mold and mildew. Fiberglass insulation, on the other hand, will promote mold and mildew growth, settle over time, and even encourage pest invasion.
InSoFast Shipping Container Projects
The CX panel is meant for use in shipping containers. The panel is thin at 2” deep, leaving ample room within the container for furniture and movement. The installation will follow an 11” pattern that repeats along the corrugation so that the ribs of the corrugation line up against the panel’s embedded studs.
These CX panels provide an affordable insulation product that you can install on your own for an effective insulation system.
InSoFast, LLC, also provides the Inserts for Side Walls, Ceilings, and End Walls. These products are sleeves of EPS foam that slide into the corrugation and stay with the help of construction adhesive. Once in place, the result is a flat surface.
Upon the resulting surface, you’ll need to install a wall system of either UX 2.0 or EXi 2.5 panels. This option leaves no air between the insulation and the steel of the container to affect the insulation’s effectiveness.
The final option we have devised is the CX-LP Low-Pro Embedded Stud. These studs relieve you of the bulk of the entire panel. The system involves applying the CX-LP stud to the ribs of corrugation, the Inerts into the recesses, and a rigid foam board of your choice to span the distance between. This option will not include raceways for running services. Keep that in mind as you choose the best product for your project.
