Insulated Exterior Wall Panels

A well-insulated home will keep everyone comfortable

If you’re a do-it-yourselfer who is eager to learn how to insulate the exterior walls of your new or retrofit construction project, consider InSoFast EPS foam insulated panels. They are cost-effective, weather resistant, fast and easy to install, and take the complexity out of exterior continuous insulation.

InSoFast, LLC, established in 2006, manufactures closed-cell, injection-molded EPS foam insulation panels at facilities in Idaho, Massachusetts and Minnesota. They are the preferred DIY insulation method, can be applied universally to any interior or exterior wall assembly, and can be shipped free of charge to project sites across the continental U.S.

Insulated Exterior Wall Panels

The Benefits of EPS Foam Insulation

Expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam is a closed-cell insulation that offers the following benefits in exterior applications:

  • outperforms traditionally framed R-15 batt walls with a continuous R-value of 10.5 (or greater)
  • stronger, denser, and can carry heavier loads than open-cell foam
  • forms a continuous barrier that eliminates the potential for thermal leaks
  • dual-sided engineered drainage channels help ensure that no moisture penetrates the wall assembly
  • tightly interlocking panels create a resilient seal that will not change shape, dry or crack over time
  • manufactured with a fire-retardant additive
  • allows for endless possibilities in exterior finishing, e.g., siding, stone, stucco
  • can radically improve the R-value of older homes without damaging their vintage character

A One-Step Solution

The InSoFast EXe 2.5 Panel is an R-10 continuous insulation (CI) weather screen assembly that is optimized for exterior usage and maximizes energy efficiency and moisture management.

To increase your R-Value beyond R-10 code minimums while maintaining the engineered benefits of continuous InSoFast panels, discover how to develop an InSoFast PLUS wall to increase the R-value to R-21.

Panels can be installed over your existing weather resistant barrier or house wrap. They serve as a secondary weather resistant barrier that is well-suited to absorptive claddings such as stucco or stone and provide a much-needed capillary break from wood framed walls and sheathing.

Siding can be attached directly to the panel’s embedded stud framing. The polypropylene plastic studs have the same structural strength of 20-gauge steel studs but, unlike metal, do not conduct heat and will not disrupt the home’s thermal protection.

When using InSoFast to retrofit older structures, you won’t have to remove existing wood siding or trim boards and can incapsulate old lead paint siding instead of wasting time, energy and expense on abatement.

InSoFast EPS panels are very lightweight and can be easily cut and installed on the jobsite with a handsaw, handheld jigsaw or sabre saw, construction glue and a caulk gun.

InSoFast panels incorporate multiple complex architectural functions in a single, hassle-free design.
