The cost associated with heating and cooling older homes can be a significant burden that comes with ownership. Adding insulation to interior walls in your aged home can provide relief from this expense while also protecting the home and its residents from temperature extremes, moisture, and amplified sound. InSoFast EPS foam insulation panels are the best option.
The process of adding insulation to interior walls doesn’t have to involve tearing out sheetrock or calling in professionals. We provide materials that meet building codes, provide an excellent R-value along with continuous insulation coverage, and go in on top of the existing wall with no remediation required!
Steps for Insulating Interior Walls of Homes
Interior walls can be insulated as easily as 1-2-3 with In-So-Fast insulation panels.
The built-in embedded studs allow for application directly onto the wall itself with just a bit of Loctite PL Premium 3X Stronger Construction Adhesive. For this application, you’ll need a caulking gun to apply the adhesive, a utility knife to modify the foam as needed, a saw of some kind to cut through the non-ferrous polypropylene studs, and a can of spray foam insulation to seal up all the tiny gaps and seams.
InSoFast insulation panels are 2’x4’, weigh little, and require very little time or skill to install. Made of EPS foam, these panels are physically and chemically stable. They won’t deteriorate or release toxins. The closed-cell, non-porous foam even includes fire-retardant ingredients and functions as a Class III vapor barrier.
Built-in features of InSoFast panels also include drainage channels, raceways for running services, and the already mentioned embedded studs.
InSoFast Insulation Options
The UX 2.0 insulation panel from InSoFast produces an energy efficiency of R-8.5, and the system when completed outperforms competing batt insulation with an R-13 strength. This panel design is 2” thick and displays the faces of the embedded studs along the flat side.
The other product line is 20% stronger. The EXi 2.5 insulation product line is 2.5” thick and has an R-value energy efficiency of 10. The system, however, outperforms competitors with R-values labeled at 15. The panels connect very closely due to the deeper embedded non-conductive studs and interconnecting notches. This design allows the insulation system to cover basement walls despite irregularities.
Insulating interior walls in older homes with InSoFast insulation panels is a great way to make upgrades without any hassles or deficiencies of quality you’ll find with other products.
